Diego Chapa | Senior Advisor

Diego is a Senior Advisor for the Investment Banking Division of Kanan Financial Partners.

Diego has nearly 10 years of experience, with a focus on the financial industry for the last 5 years, primarily in private credit, private equity, and company/asset valuation. His main specialization lies in the Private Capital and Credit industry, where he has served as an associate for four funds with capital commitments exceeding US 500 million.

Currently, Diego oversees the portfolio management for Capital Índigo. In this role, he concentrates on portfolio monitoring through income statement analysis, company cash flow projections, strategic support, and implementation of tools for company tracking. He assists in strategy execution to enhance the financial health of companies, supports credit restructuring, and handles general fund management.

Their experience in private equity is diverse, with investments spanning waste management, media, food, transportation, finance, manufacturing, among others. Their investment style is proactive, continually seeking to add value to their investments through constructive engagement in each. Within this framework, they stand out for their ability to identify credit issues early on, addressing them proactively, and focusing on risk mitigation and capital preservation.

Furthermore, they excel in turning around underperforming companies through effective change measures. Additionally, their expertise extends to establishing and optimizing the ultimate path for exit, ensuring efficient investment management until its conclusion.

Previously, Diego served as an associate at Duff & Phelps in the Valuation Advisory Services, conducting valuations of companies (public and private) for transactional purposes and financial reporting under IFRS and MEX-GAAP.

He has been invited to various boards of directors for companies such as Interdeli, Índigo Proambiental, Deli Dips & Snacks, Herco, among others.

Diego holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Universidad Anáhuac México Norte and a Master’s in Finance (MAF) from EGADE Business School (ITESM). Additionally, Diego is a Level II CFA Candidate.
