Omar Ramirez | Partner
Omar is a Partner in the Investment Banking Division of Kanan Financial Partners.
He has extensive experience in transaction and valuation advisory services for national and international companies, as well as for both public and private entities from different regions of the world, in different industries and sectors.
Throughout his professional career, Omar has been involved in capital raising processes, mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advice, as well as advisory services in business and corporate valuation, in infrastructure, oil and gas, renewable energy and technologies to reduce carbon emissions, aerospace industry, as well as engineering and construction companies.
During his professional and academic career, Omar has acquired relevant knowledge and experience in financial modeling and transaction advisory for the energy sector, from the hydrocarbon value chain to low-carbon technologies and clean energy infrastructure.
As part of the different projects in which he has been involved, Omar has gained significant experience in different regions of the world, including Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
Relevant projects in which Omar has participated include the financial and strategic advisory for the NOC of Mexico to optimize its day-to-day financial management; financial advisory to the competition regulatory institution of El Salvador, to analyze the financial the continuous performance of two beer companies through a detailed analysis of their KPIs; buy-side advisory processes to acquire upstream Oil & Gas assets in Southeast Asia, and midstream Oil & Gas assets in Mexico; among several others.
Prior to joining Kanan, Omar worked at Duff & Phelps (now Kroll), where he joined as an analyst and continued to develop his career to become a Senior Associate in the Corporate Finance team, focusing on energy, infrastructure and natural resources.
Omar holds a Master of Science in Energy and Earth Resources from the University of Texas at Austin and is a Geological Engineer from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), where he graduated at the top of his class.
