Daniel Alejo | Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Daniel is Co-Founder and Managing Partner in the Investment Banking Division of Kanan Financial Partners.
He has more than 10 years of experience advising regional and local multinational corporations, state-owned companies and governments.
Daniel has extensive experience in transactional advice (Mergers & Acquisitions) both on the sell-side and buy-side, capital raising and valuation of investment projects, as well as financial advice and analysis for various sectors. He specializes leading all the activities to be carried out in transactional and capital-raising processes from its inception to the successful conclusion.
He has participated in a variety of transactions in different sectors such as: infrastructure, energy, fintech, telecommunications, health, food and beverage, oil and gas, industrials, real estate, among others. Daniel has led projects in all activities within a transactional process, which include structuring ideal financing strategies for companies in unique situations, executing due diligence, develop financial models to assess business opportunities, as well as prepare and review investment decks to support the client to make the most educated decisions for the successful conclusion of transactions or to carry out capital raising processes, always looking for the maximization of client’s value.
Daniel has experience evaluating investment opportunities and executing projects located in different geographies such as: Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Region. During his professional career, Daniel has valued more than 100 companies and assets under different business modalities and has participated in more than 40 transactions throughout his professional career.
Before founding Kanan, he worked at Duff & Phelps (now Kroll) where he started as an Analyst, later promoted as a Senior Associate and became Vice President of the Corporate Finance area which specialized in infrastructure, energy and natural resources approaches all over the world. Prior to joining Duff & Phelps, Daniel worked as a Senior Analyst in the commercial credit area of Banco Inbursa.
Daniel holds a degree in Economics from the Universidad Anáhuac México Norte in Mexico City. He has a Diploma in Investment Banking and another in Private Equity & Venture Capital Funds from the Universidad Anáhuac México Norte and the Mexican Association of Private Equity (AMEXCAP), respectively.
